Important information about Clinical Trials

Investigators at Fox Chase Cancer Center are passionate about clinical research, and will work with you to find the best options available for your care.

We encourage all patients to consider enrolling on a clinical trial. Over the years, this has consistently been the best way to safely develop new and effective treatments for all types of cancer. Clinical trials are carefully reviewed prior to activation, and must comply with all appropriate regulations.

Not all trials are open for patient enrollment (active accrual) at any one time. Our public directory of clinical trials only shows trials that are currently open for enrollment, which can change from day-to-day. Therefore, if you are looking for a specific trial, but it does not appear on our list of active studies, it might still be available within a short period of time. This information can be reviewed with your medical team during your visit.

In order to enroll in a trial, we also have to verify your eligibility according to specific criteria defined within each study. This requires checking your diagnosis, treatment history, and overall medical condition, which is best accomplished by arranging a consultation. Only eligible patients can enroll in a clinical trial.

It is important that you work with your medical team to determine the best options available to you. For that reason, we encourage you to obtain a personal consultation, rather than relying on a database, when making important individualized decisions about your care.

We are here to help.
