High-Tech and Low Stress

The Imaging Center includes 14,000 square feet of space within the Fox Chase Cancer Center campus in Philadelphia. Mainly an outpatient facility, it is open to Fox Chase patients and patients being treated at other cancer centers.

High-tech imaging services with the latest equipment, doctors who are experts in radiology and a dedicated group of nurses, technicians and support staff are all here for you. The Imaging Center also features comfortable waiting areas and private changing rooms for patients.

A Filmless and Digital Imaging Facility

The Imaging Center at Fox Chase is a completely filmless and digital facility. Our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) gives our doctors the ability to read images in minutes from anywhere in the cancer center. This includes the clinic area, where doctors can see images instantly without the need to print out hard-copy film. Digital systems such as PACS replace hard-copy based means of managing medical images, such as film archives.

Digital imaging expands on conventional systems by providing for off-site viewing and reporting (distance education, tele-diagnosis). It also lets doctors at various physical locations view the same information at the same time (teleradiology).

Accreditation Recognizes Excellence

Fox Chase Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for both screen-film and full-field digital mammography units. The ACR is the country's oldest and largest accrediting body for mammography. Fox Chase also holds ACR accrediation for MRI services.
