Radiation Oncology - What to Expect

The links provided here will explain in detail what you can expect before, during and after your radiation treatment.

Before treatment, you will meet with a Fox Chase radiation oncologist to determine if radiation therapy is right for you, as well as a review of your medical tests and a physical exam. The process of simulation and treatment planning will be explained as well.

During treatment you will receive radiation via external beam radiation therapy or internal seed implants.

After treatment is complete, you can expect follow-up visits with the radiation oncologist and additional tests to determine if the radiation therapy was effective.
