A Diagnosis of Brain Cancer
The diagnosis of a primary malignant brain tumor (that is cancerous), a metastatic brain tumor (brain tumor that starts elsewhere in the body and spreads to the brain) or a neurological complication of cancer is devastating to patients and their families. However, depending on the condition, there are often many treatment options.
A Working Partnership
Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Cancer Center, both in Philadelphia, are partners in a comprehensive program for patients diagnosed with all types of brain tumors, malignancies involving the nervous system and neurological complications of cancer. We treat each patient as an individual, addressing your specific needs.
Experienced Doctors
Our multispecialty team of physicians offers expertise in different areas, including neurological oncology, radiation oncology and neurosurgery. Our doctors work together to offer you the latest neurological and brain tumor treatment options, including the latest clinical trials. Our doctors discuss all treatment recommendations with you, weighing the risks and benefits of each type of treatment.
Providing Support
Fox Chase Cancer Center offers an array of support services for patients with brain cancer and their families. In addition, we provide referrals for services in the community such as brain tumor support groups. Such support can help in coping with brain cancer symptoms, treatment and psychosocial issues related to the disease.
