Mark L. Sobczak, MD

Fox Chase Cancer Center

Dr. Sobczak is a radiation oncologist and a recognized expert in the care of genitourinary malignancies. He joined the Fox Chase Cancer Center after a notable career in the US Navy Medical Corps where he organized and led the first comprehensive oncology department in military medicine. This was followed by several years of experience in the planning, development, and growth of free-standing radiation oncology centers with 21st Century Oncology. Dr. Sobczak has been a pioneer in the planning, implementation and utilization of electronic medical records in oncology.

Clinical Interests/Research:
Dr. Sobczak's clinical interests include Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, Image Guided Radiation Therapy, and Brachytherapy, including HDR and LDR seeds; 3-dimensional treatment planning. His research interests include predictive biomarkers for genitourinary cancers, cancer genetics, and cancer prevention and control.
