Paws for the Cause 2012 Ambassador: Lindsay Fullerton
"My name is Lindsay and I am 12 years old. Cancer has affected me in a lot of ways. When I was 7 years old, my next door neighbor, David, died from cancer. He was so special to me. Back then, I didn't know what cancer was. But as I grew older, I learned more and more. A few years later, my neighbor, Sashi, was diagnosed with cancer. She is still fighting today!
When my parents got divorced, our neighbor, Howard, took care of me every morning and put me on the school bus after my mom left for work. He made me breakfast, gave me gifts and was always nice to me. He was part of our family. Then we learned he had cancer. He spent a lot of time in the hospital. One time he left but never came back. We lost him to cancer, too. Around that time, my neighbor rescued a dog that she found running along the Schuylkill Expressway, which is how he got his name. I enjoy spending time with Schuylkill whenever I can.
When I heard about Paws for the Cause, I knew I wanted to get involved as their Ambassador because I love dogs and I want to help fight cancer. Please join my family and me to support cancer research."

In addition to raising money for a great cause, the walk is also tied-in with Fox Chase's "Love Versus Cancer" initiative, which aims to honor and promote the strength and hope that love brings to the challenge of confronting cancer. The initiative is anchored by a YouTube video that features Fox Chase's pet-therapy dog Mary Margaret and her four-legged friends. See what it's all about by visiting loveversuscancer.org.
