Fox Chase Cancer Center and Stazi Milano Restaurant Host 11th Annual "Pedal for Prevention" Bike Ride
PHILADELPHIA (August 25, 2000) -- The 11th annual Fox Chase Cancer Center/Stazi Milano Pedal for Prevention Bike Ride will take place on Sunday, October 8 at 7:30 a.m. The non-competitive town and country trek takes riders through the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia and adjacent Montgomery County area. Money raised benefits the new Research Institute for Cancer Prevention at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
For non-cyclists, the "Pedaling Is Not For Me" walk-a-thon will also be held the morning of the ride. Walkers are invited to get pledges.
Check-in is at 7:00 a.m. for the 40-mile bike ride, 8:00 a.m. for the 10-mile and 20-mile bike rides, and 9:30 a.m. for the walk-a-thon at Fox Chase Cancer Center, 7701 Burholme Ave., Northeast Philadelphia. Pre-registration fees are $35 per person. Day-of-event registration is $40 per person. Pre-registration is recommended.
