Fox Chase And Byers' Choice Team Up In The Fight Against Breast Cancer

PHILADELPHIA (Sepember 9, 2009) – Byers’ Choice, maker of the artisan-crafted Christmas carolers sold in gift shops around the world, is teaming up with Fox Chase Cancer Center in the fight against breast cancer.  This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the company will hold its first annual Byers’ Choice Thinks Pink Walk, Health and Craft Fair—all in support of cancer research at Fox Chase.

To kick things off, Byers’ Choice will host a cocktail party to celebrate the opening of a unique exhibit of "Art Bras" on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. in the Emporium at Byers’ Choice (4355 County Line Road, Chalfont).  These one-of-a-kind bras are truly works of art designed by professional fiber artists from around the world, and have been featured in calendars and exhibited across the United States to benefit breast cancer awareness programs. The event will also feature a silent auction. All proceeds from ticket sales as well as the auction will benefit Fox Chase.

The public will also get a chance to meet the “Art Bra” artists from A Way to Women's Wellness Foundation on Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to Noon and Sunday, October 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Byers’ Choice Gift Emporium (4355 County Line Road, Chalfont).  Guest will get a chance to talk with Victoria Adams Brown and her artists, and have them sign an "Art Bra" calendar. A way to Women’s Wellness Foundation was founded by Victoria Adams Brown and is a not-for-profit all-volunteer grass roots organization whose mission is to support women’s wellness.

Then, on Saturday, October 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the company will hold its first annual Byers’ Choice Thinks Pink Walk, Health and Craft Fair on their grounds (4355 County Line Road, Chalfont).  The walk will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. Participants will walk a loop around the grounds as few or as many times as they can go—no minimum or limits, no stopwatches.  In addition, many local craftsmen, food vendors and entertainers will be on-site until 3pm.

The registration fee is $25 per walker. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to raise additional funds from friends and family. Registration is open until the day of the walk.
