Fox Chase Cancer Center Adds Sarah H. Kim to Surgical Oncology Team
PHILADELPHIA (November 6, 2009) – Sarah H. Kim, MD, MSCE, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as an attending surgeon in the division of gynecologic oncology. At Fox Chase, Kim specializes in the surgical treatment of gynecologic cancers and complex benign gynecologic conditions. In addition to performing traditional open surgical procedures, Kim has special interests in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries.
“I joined Fox Chase Cancer Center family because it is the region's only hospital devoted entirely to cancer treatment and dedicated to cutting-edge research,” says Kim. “I hope to continue bringing the fight for women cancers even more to the forefront of public awareness.”
Kim will be one of the Center’s first surgical oncologists to provide comprehensive care at both Fox Chase and Virtua in South Jersey through the Fox Chase Cancer Center Partners Program. “Through this program, I hope to expand the Fox Chase’s efforts in bringing clinical trials to South Jersey and offer more treatment options in gynecological oncology to the community,” Kim says.
Kim comes to Fox Chase from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. In addition, Kim completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and received a masters of science in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine.
Kim earned her MD from Upstate Medical University, SUNY College of Medicine in Syracuse, New York. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
