Instructions for Ordering Article Reprints through the Talbot Research Library

As a courtesy to Fox Chase staff and to facilitate the library's archival record keeping, all reprints can be ordered through the library. Every attempt is made to complete and send out reprint orders in one day to comply with proof return policies. Orders are shipped by express mail when necessary. If you have questions about reprints, please email the library at Lib_reference@fccc.edu or call Liz Duff at x2711.

Instructions

  1. Bring or mail to the library all materials that must be returned to the publisher. Address the materials to the Library, and indicate that it is a reprint order.
  2. Please be sure to include the publisher's reprint order form, if one has been provided, and sign it if necessary. Also, sign all copyright transfer forms when applicable.
  3. Provide a signed purchase requisition and include your cost center and grant numbers. Please leave other areas blank. We will return a completed copy of the purchase requisition to you after the order has been sent.
  4. If you are not returning proofs with the reprint order, or if you are not finished correcting the proofs, please make a copy of the first page of the proofs and include it with the order forms. It often contains information necessary for the proper completion of the order.

Please Note:

Occasionally, proofs and reprint orders are required to be sent to separate addresses and often the deadline for reprint orders is much more lenient than that of the proofs. In such cases, and in order to expedite the return of your proofs, you may return them directly to the publisher. They need not be forwarded to the library with the reprint order, providing we have all the information requested above.

Also Note:

If you are not ordering reprints and are just paying for page charges, please contact the Purchasing Department (x4746). However, we request that you send the library 5 copies for archival storage and institutional use.

The library will send the purchaser 25-30 copies (more upon request) after the reprints arrive. The library keeps 5 copies for institutional use and sends out reprints as requests arrive. Due to space limitations, reprints are stored at the library for one year only, after which, any remaining reprints are returned to the author.

When the library's supply of reprints is exhausted, or if the library receives reprint requests for reprints not ordered through the library, we will forward reprint request cards to you. The library will not photocopy reprints for distribution.

Because it is usually impossible to reorder reprints after the initial supply is depleted, the library will not attempt to order additional reprints after the initial order.
