Fox Chase Cancer Center accepts both self- and physician-referred patients.
Please allow two to three hours for your first visit. If you have not registered online, please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled appointment that day for check-in and registration.
You will need to sign the following consent forms:
- General Consent - Gives Fox Chase Cancer Center, our physicians and nurses permission to review your medical records, assess your medical needs and provide care.
- HIPAA - Informs you of your right to privacy.
You'll also receive Fox Chase's Notice of Privacy Practice, which explains our privacy policies regarding your personal health information and details your health-information rights under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996).

Checking Out
You will be discharged by 11 a.m. Please remember to make advance arrangements for your transportation home. If you have received medicine that dulls your alertness or causes noticeable physical reactions, a responsible adult must accompany you.

Insurance
To check if Fox Chase accepts your insurance plan or to speak with a patient insurance representative, please call 215-728-2678.
Medical Emergencies
If you have a medical emergency during weekday daytime hours, call the number your doctor or nurse has given you. If you have a medical emergency on an evening or weekend, use Fox Chase Cancer Center's on-call system by calling 215-728-6900. Ask for the nursing supervisor.
You may be directed to Fox Chase's Direct Referral Unit (DRU). The DRU is overseen by the Hospitalist service. This area provides urgent care for FCCC outpatients upon referral by their primary FCCC medical, surgical, or radiation oncologist. The DRU is staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If necessary, you may be directed to the emergency room at Jeanes Hospital, which is connected to Fox Chase Cancer Center. Call 911 and ask to be taken to Jeanes. Be sure to tell the Jeanes staff that you are a Fox Chase patient so the Fox Chase physician on call can be notified. (Directions to Jeanes Hospital)
If hospital admission is necessary, you will be admitted to Fox Chase.
