Conquer Cancer Coast-To-Coast National Bike Ride Arrives at Fox Chase Cancer Center on September 16

PHILADELPHIA (September 8, 1998) -- Fox Chase Cancer Center welcomes cross-country cyclist and breast cancer survivor Dani Grady as her 3,500-mile trek across the nation brings her to the region's top comprehensive cancer-care center. Grady is set to arrive at Fox Chase Cancer Center Wednesday, September 16 at 9 a.m.

Grady, 40, is a 10-year breast cancer survivor, an exceptional spokesperson for cancer patients and survivors, and an endurance athlete. She began her 70-day journey on July 20 in San Diego.

The Conquer Cancer Coast-to-Coast National Bike Tour will end at THE MARCH in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, September 26. THE MARCH is a national rally to help focus attention on the need for more cancer research funding.

At THE MARCH, Grady will present a banner signed by supporters from each of her stops along the 3,500-mile journey.

Grady has served as the National Cancer Institute's information resource person in Southern California for seven years. She is a leading member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition and a reviewer of grant proposals for the National Cancer Institute. Grady is the co-chair of the National Bike Tour.

Fox Chase Cancer Center is one of 34 National Cancer Institute-designated clinical comprehensive cancer centers in the nation. The Center's activities include basic and research, prevention, detection and treatment of cancer and community outreach programs.
