20th Annual Potpourri Auction Features Fabulous Fifties Theme to Raise Funds for Patient Care at Fox Chase Cancer Center

PHILADELPHIA (March 2, 1999) -- The 20th Annual Potpourri Auction by the Friends of the Hospital of Fox Chase Cancer Center will transform the Center cafeteria into the Fox Rock Caf� on Saturday, March 27.� Starting at 6 p.m., you can take a nostalgic trip to the best of the '50s(be-bop to Bandstand sounds, feast on fabulous fifties fare (with cash bar), enter raffles for fantastic prizes and preview a host of goodies donated for auction.

The auction begins at 7:30 p.m.� Items up for bids include:

The general admission fee of $20 per person covers the Fabulous Fifties Buffet.� All net proceeds from admission tickets and auction bids benefit patient care at Fox Chase.� Dress is casual--'50s attire is welcome!

The Friends of the Hospital is a member organization of Fox Chase Cancer Center's Board of Associates.� Board of Associates groups represent more than 700 volunteers who conduct fund-raising and educational activities to support Center research, patient care and specially designated projects, such as the Prevention Pavilion and the nursing scholarship fund.

Fox Chase Cancer Center is one of 35 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation.� The Center's activities include basic and clinical research; prevention, detection and treatment of cancer; and community outreach programs.
