Good Housekeeping Ranks Fox Chase Doctors Among Nation's Best Cancer Specialists
PHILADELPHIA (February 11, 1999) -- Good Housekeeping magazine published its annual list this week of The Top 318 Cancer Specialists for Women. Seven doctors from Fox Chase Cancer Center top the list for breast cancer, lung cancer, thoracic cancer and colon cancer.
The "Top Doctors" were nominated by hospital department chairs in related clinical fields at major medical institutions across the country. Good Housekeeping asked them to name cancer specialists who provide expert treatment and who they consider the leading physicians in cancer care.
To avoid unnecessary bias throughout the nomination process, the department chairs were not permitted to nominate physicians from their own institutions. Good Housekeeping accepted the names of hundreds of nominees.
