Fox Chase Cancer Center Volunteer Retires After 15,000 Hours

PHILADELPHIA (October 28, 1999) -- After 25 years, Sam Semmel of Oxford Circle retired after serving as a volunteer at Fox Chase Cancer Center.� Mr. Semmel started volunteering after a lengthy career as a cross-country tractor-trailer driver for Strick Trailers. Sam was often heard to say, "the one thing I won't do is retire from life."� Sam and his wife Leah have been married for 55 years.� They take great pride in their son and daughter and their extended families.� His 15,000 hours of service have been greatly appreciated over the years at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
