Fox Chase Cancer Center Dog Walk Raises More Than $11,000 for Cancer Prevention Research
PHILADELPHIA�(October 31, 2000) -- More than 300 dog lovers with leashes in hand took to the pavement with their pooches to raise money for cancer prevention research. The 2nd annual "Paws for the Cause" dog walk raised more than $11,000 for Fox Chase Cancer Center.Highlights of the morning were the dog-owner look-alike contest, best "tail-wagger" competition and the pet-tricks contest.
Bob Russo and his dog Lucky were a favorite duo in the dog-owner look-alike contest. "I don't look like Lucky. She just looks like me," declared Russo, of New York City, New York.
