Fox Chase Cancer Center Offers Smoking Cessation Program

PHILADELPHIA (July 10, 2001) -- People who quit smoking, regardless of age, live longer than people who continue to smoke, according to the U.S. Surgeon General.� It's never too late.� If you want to stop smoking, Fox Chase Cancer Center can help.

Fox Chase Cancer Center is offering a smoking cessation program on Tuesday, August 7th and on the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at its satellite office at 432 Rhawn St. in Northeast Philadelphia.

The Fox Chase program will help participants quit smoking through education, medical intervention and/or complementary medicine, such as hypnotherapy.� Participants will learn to change their smoking behaviors and to cope with the effects of withdrawal. The educational component of this program includes helpful information about nutrition and exercise as well.
