U.S. Marines Deliver Toys for Three Tots
PHILADELPHIA (December 13, 2001) -- As part of the annual Toys for Tots program, three representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps delivered toys to a patient at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Nurse Liz Kerr (left) called Marine Corps office in Philadelphia to request the toys for a young father of three who was receiving care at Fox Chase.
SSgt Michael Beauchemin (left center), GySgt Matthew Beier (center right), and volunteer Terri Beier (right) delivered the toys which included a toy dump truck, Lincoln logs, and a stuffed Pooh from the 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Corps office.
Toys For Tots is a non-profit charity run by the Toys For Tots Foundation and Marine Corps, and has been providing memorable holiday since 1947. Anyone wishing to make a donation to this year's toy drive can drop off a new, unwrapped toy where a Marine Corps Toys for Tots poster is displayed.
