"Find a Cure Outing" Raises $49,000 for Fox Chase Cancer Center

PHILADELPHIA (January 4, 2002) -- The 2nd Annual "Find a Cure" outing has raised $49,000 to support breast and prostate cancer research at Fox Chase Cancer Center. The October event, hosted by Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill, NJ, involved competitions in golf, tennis and bridge. To date, the event has raised more than $93,000.

"Find a Cure" event organizer Jay Berman (left or right in photo) presented this year's check to Fox Chase Cancer Center's Sandi Weckesser. This is the second year the event has been organized under the direction of Berman. Davis Enterprises, represented by Jane Davis (right, left), donated $10,000 to support the event. Woodcrest Country Club president Barry Bennett (not pictured) donated the use of the club facilities.

Fox Chase Cancer Center, one of the nation's first comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute in 1974, conducts basic and clinical research; programs of prevention, detection and treatment of cancer; and community outreach.
