Fox Chase Presents "Ask the Doctor About Lymphoma"
PHILADELPHIA (September 18, 2002)- People diagnosed with lymphoma and their families are invited to a special session called "Ask the Doctor about Lymphoma" on Thursday, October 3, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the outpatient department at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Mitchell Smith, M.D., a lymphoma expert, will discuss the latest treatment options.
Smith is a medical oncologist with a special interest in lymphoma research. He will speak to patients about radioimmunotherapy, an innovative treatment that uses patients' antibodies and radioactive drugs to combat cancer cells. Smith will explain what antibodies are and how they are administered, discuss radiation safety issues and common side effects of antibody treatment, and report on ongoing research in radioimmunotherapy.
"Ask the Doctor about Lymphoma" is a series presented by the Lymphoma Research Foundation and Fox Chase Cancer Center to educate patients about therapies that have either recently received FDA approval, or that are in development. If you would like to attend, please call 215-728-2580.
