Hospital in Poland Welcomes Fox Chase Cancer Center Expert Physician
PHILADELPHIA (June 10, 2002) -- Michael Unger, MD, director of Fox Chase Cancer Center's Pulmonary Cancer Detection and Prevention Program and director of Pulmonary Endoscopy and High Risk Lung Cancer Program took his expertise to Poland as the visiting professor at the Silesian Medical University in Katowice. Unger spent time conducting seminars teaching the latest cutting edge diagnostic techniques practiced at Fox Chase Cancer Center for lung and esophageal cancers. Silesian and Fox Chase physicians also discussed the future of collaborative cancer research.
Unger was invited to Silesia to be the keynote speaker at the centennial celebration of the Silesian Medical Association. Unger delivered the address and other lectures in Polish.
