Guttmann Returns to Fox Chase Cancer Center's Diagnostic Imaging Department
PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 19, 2003) — Diagnostic radiologist Marlane Casper Guttmann, M.D., of Rydal, Pa., has been appointed staff radiologist in Fox Chase Cancer Center's diagnostic imaging department, where she previously held that position from 1991 to 1998. She is also an associate member in the division of medical science at Fox Chase.
Guttmann's medical interests are oncologic and breast imaging and procedures. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, she is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, the American College of Radiology, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Radiological Society of North America.
Guttmann received her undergraduate degree in biology magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978. She then earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in 1983, receiving an American Medical Women's Association Citation and the Merck Manuel Award. After her internship in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, she completed a residency in diagnostic imaging at Temple University Hospital from 1985 to 1990.
Guttmann also served as a postdoctoral fellow at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia from 1989 to 1990, focusing on ultrasound, computed tomography (CT scanning) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). From 1998 to present, she was staff radiologist at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Medical Center and a supervising physician for breast imaging.
