Registration Underway at Fox Chase Cancer Center for 5th Annual "Paws for the Cause" Dog Walk

PHILADELPHIA (September 15, 2003) — Fox Cancer Center welcomes dog lovers and their pooches to the 5th Annual "Paws for the Cause" dog walk on Sunday, October 26, 2003, on the Center's campus, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia. Proceeds from this event will benefit cancer prevention programs at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Registration for this one, two, or three-mile walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. on the grounds at Fox Chase. The walk will begin at approximately 9:20 a.m. rain or shine. The registration fee is $10 per person and pledges are encouraged. Prizes will be given to the top pledge fundraiser.

With activities such as the dog-owner look alike contest, the best "tail-wagger" wag-off, and the amazing pet-tricks competition, this event is guaranteed to be jam packed with fun! Prizes will be given to the top winner in each contest. Fox Chase also is pleased to welcome back FOX 29 Philadelphia anchor and Paws for the Cause honorary chairman, George Mallet.

More than 300 owners and their dogs participated in last year's event, raising over $10,000 for Fox Chase Cancer Center and cancer prevention research.
