Strength for all Seasons Celebrates Patients and Their Families At Fox Chase Cancer Center
PHILADELPHIA (May 12, 2004) -- Fox Chase Cancer Center will host Strength for All Seasons, an educational fair for patients and their families on Thursday, June 3, 2004 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Fox Chase courtyard. This educationally jammed packed day is free for all attendees.
Strength for all Seasons provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere to help patients and their families cope with their cancer diagnosis and treatment. Various departments will be available to answers questions including representatives from the Pain Management center, nutrition services, radiology oncology, the pharmacy, the Cancer Information Service, and the Resource and Education Center (REC). Information on spirituality, cancer research and prevention, reflexology and physical rehabilitation will be available as well. A chair massage will also be site.
As part of National Skin Cancer Awareness month, representatives from Neutrogena� will share helpful hints on how to care for your skin. Through special photographs taken with an Ultraviolet (UV) Light detection camera, individuals will be able to view and learn about hyperpigmentation, an actual discoloration in the skin due to sun damage.
