PHILADELPHIA (November 7, 2005) -- Fox Chase Cancer Center's vice president of nursing and patient services, Joanne Hambleton, RN, MSN, CNA, of Warminster, Pa., has been selected by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association as recipient of its Administration-Management Award.
Hambleton was honored for her strength of character, commitment and contributions to the provision of nursing care through her ability to lead other nurses. Hambleton has provided exemplary leadership, evident in the successful effort to attain the American Nurses Association's Magnet Nursing Services Recognition Award in 2000 and 2004 (four-year accreditations).
Hambleton was honored in September at the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association annual awards ceremony, which was co-sponsored by the Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania. The event honored other award recipients for their outstanding contributions and accomplishments to the nursing profession as well as registered nurses and supporters of the nursing community.
