Bernie McGlinchey, husband of the late Regina McGlinchey, with his daughter Colleen Kitchenman, both of Northeast Philadelphia, donated $7000 in early May to Dr. Joseph Testa, Ph.D., director of the Human Genetics Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Regina McGlinchey was treated at Fox Chase during the summer of 2004. After losing her battle with cancer, family and friends decided to raise money for lung cancer research in tribute to McGlinchey's courageous battle with lung cancer.

The donation was made possible through proceeds raised at the Regina McGlinchey Beef and Beef event, hosted by family and held in honor of McGlinchey, at the Plumber's Union Hall, Local 690. Unions across the region sent donations in support of husband, Bernie McGlinchey, a member of the plumbers' union for 30 years.
