Fox Chase Cancer Center Begins Construction on New Hospital Wing

New Facility on Existing Campus to Provide Expanded Diagnostic Imaging Services

PHILADELPHIA (June 8, 2005) -- Fox Chase Cancer Center has begun construction of its new hospital wing. The new facility being added to the hospital on Fox Chase's existing campus, allows the world-renowned cancer research and treatment center to expand its diagnostic imaging services. The $4.8 million project will be completed next spring.

The new two-floor, 14,000 square foot facility will house two MRIs, a CT scan, ultrasound equipment and digital radiology services. The facility will also include new operating rooms. The addition will help accommodate patient demand for these services. Fox Chase has experienced tremendous growth in patient volumes in the last decade.

EwingCole, a national firm headquartered in Philadelphia, is the architect, engineer and planner for the new facility. J.J. DeLuca Company is the general contractor.
