Philadelphia Freedoms Presents $22,000 Check to Fox Chase Cancer Center

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 27, 2006) - Members of the Fox Chase Cancer Center community will honor the Philadelphia Freedoms, 2006 World Team Tennis Champions, for their generous donation of $22,000 at a special tea on Monday, October 30, 2006. The tea will take place on the Fox Chase Cancer Center campus, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia.

Five years ago, Fox Chase became the first sponsor of the Philadelphia Freedoms. Now, Fox Chase is not only a host sponsor but also the official charity.

The donation represents fundraising efforts led by the Freedoms and Fox Chase over the past year. The $22,000 represents money raised by auctioning autographed items from Pete Sampras and Venus Williams, donations during the matches and all parking proceeds. In addition, each ace scored throughout the season yielded a $100 gift.
