Angela R. Bradbury, M.D., Named Director of the Margaret Dyson Family Risk Assessment Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center

PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 14, 2007) — Fox Chase Cancer Center has announced the appointment of Angela R. Bradbury, M.D., as director of the Margaret Dyson Family Risk Assessment Program, a prevention and early-detection program for women with a hereditary or genetic risk of breast or ovarian cancer. Bradbury succeeds Mary B. Daly, who has assumed responsibilities as senior vice president of the population science division.

Bradbury has clinical expertise in the areas of general oncology, breast oncology, clinical cancer genetics and clinical medical ethics. She is a collaborative investigator with the Cooperative Family Registry for Breast Cancer Studies and her primary research goal is to study ethical dilemmas that arise in cancer prevention and predictive genetic testing. Her current research evaluates how and when parents share their genetic test results with their offspring.

Before joining Fox Chase, Bradbury was an instructor in the section of hematology-oncology at the University of Chicago, Department of Medicine. She was also an associate faculty member at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics.

Bradbury earned her B.A. in biology from the University of Virginia and her M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.

Bradbury is the recipient of two American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Awards, an ASCO Young Investigator Award and a five-year mentored American Cancer Society Award. She is also a member of many professional organizations such as - American Society of Human Genetics, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
