Fox Chase Cancer Center's Susan Weiss Behrend Receives Oncology Nursing Society's Ellyn Bushkin Friend of the Foundation Award

PHILADELPHIA (May 22, 2007) — Susan Weiss Behrend, RN, MSN, AOCN, clinical nurse specialist at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received the Ellyn Bushkin Friend of the Foundation Award from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Foundation Board of Trustees. The presentation took place Tuesday, April 24, at the Oncology Nursing Society's 32nd annual congress.

The Friend of the Foundation Award recognizes individuals or corporations who have provided continuous support of the ONS Foundation's mission. Behrend was selected as the recipient of this award for her ongoing dedication and commitment to the profession of oncology nursing and her outstanding support for the ONS Foundation. She knew Ellyn Bushkin and admired her visionary leadership of the Foundation.

Behrend has been a clinical nurse specialist in the areas of medical and radiation oncology for 27 years. She earned her bachelor's of arts degree in Spanish Literature, BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania. Behrend is certified as an advanced oncology nurse from the oncology nursing certification corporation.
