Sameer A. Patel Joins Fox Chase Cancer Center's Surgical Oncology Department

PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 14, 2007) — Sameer A. Patel, M.D., has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center's department of surgical oncology. Patel specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Prior to joining Fox Chase, Patel was a fellow in microvascular reconstructive surgery and a clinical specialist in the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He also has completed residencies in both general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

Patel earned his undergraduate degree in chemical biology from Stevens Institute of Technology and his M.D. from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School.

Patel is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. His particular skills include reconstructive microsurgery, breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction; extremity reconstruction, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, complex chest wall reconstruction; and reconstruction for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
