Fern Sanford Named Director of Annual Giving at Fox Chase Cancer Center
PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 14, 2007) — Fern Sanford has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as the director of annual giving in the department of institutional advancement. As director of annual giving, Sanford will develop a regional and national annual giving program that will seek philanthropic support from prospective donors, grateful patients and friends of Fox Chase.
Prior to joining Fox Chase, Sanford was the senior manager of annual giving at the American Association of Cancer Research, the world's oldest and largest cancer research organization. She has over 18 years of fundraising experience for major Delaware Valley non-profit institutions, most notably a ten-year association with WHYY, the public television and radio station.
Sanford earned her bachelor's degree from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She is currently a member of the Direct Marketing Association Non-Profit Federation and volunteers as a Vassar College class correspondent.
Sanford has presented on various fundraising topics for the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Greater Philadelphia Chapter and the Public Broadcasting Service Development Conference. She lives in Langhorne, Pennsylvania with her husband and daughter.
