PHILADELPHIA (April 15, 2024) — Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to welcome patients to its newly expanded Buckingham site, which is located at 2365 Heritage Center Drive in Furlong, Pennsylvania.

“With this expansion, we have been able to add chemotherapy infusion and surgical consults to the other cancer services that were previously available at this site,” said Robert Uzzo, MD, MBA, FACS, President and CEO of Fox Chase.

Buckingham Opening

“We know a significant subset of patients that, because of the nature of their cancer, receive both infusion and radiation. We are pleased to announce that they will now be able to receive these services in the same location, administered by staff who have been recognized as top performers in patient care by third-party surveyors.”

Fox Chase has invested $1.9 million in the Buckingham expansion, which includes the addition of eight infusion chairs, seven exam rooms, and a CT scanner.

Fox Chase - Buckingham is home to Temple Health System’s CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System, which delivers high-dose targeted radiation that can be completed in just a few sessions. It is an outpatient procedure that does not require incisions, anesthesia, or hospitalization. The treatment is usually administered to patients being treated for lung, liver, or kidney cancer.

The location also continues to offer services that include other forms of radiation oncology, genetic counseling, high-risk breast clinical care, diagnostic CT scanning, surgical consults, and access to clinical trials.

FCCC Buckingham

Fox Chase - Buckingham became Fox Chase’s first network facility when it opened in 2009. Since then, the location has welcomed more than 500 patients per month from Bucks County, Montgomery County, Lehigh County, Scranton/Wilke-Barre, and parts of New Jersey.

“We are thrilled to be increasing access to these important treatments through this expansion,” said Uzzo. “We look forward to welcoming the hundreds of patients we see each month to a facility that continues to grow with the needs of our patients.”
