The Geisinger Fox Chase cancer program at The Henry Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer consultation, diagnosis and treatment, including clinical trials for all types of adult cancers.
Located at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre, The Henry Cancer Center is a partnership between Geisinger and Fox Chase Cancer Center- a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. This elite collaboration aims to develop cancer prevention strategies, cultivate cancer research, enhance diagnostic techniques and provide access to advanced treatment and clinical trials for people in northeastern Pennsylvania.
The Geisinger Fox Chase cancer program at The Henry Cancer Center currently provides patients the following:
Radiation Oncology
- Board-certified radiation/oncologists on site
- IMRT (Intensity modulated radiation therapy)
- Brachytherapy
- IGRT (Image Guided Radiation Therapy)
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
- External beam radiation
- Department-dedicated CT Simulator, CT and MRI imaging
- 3-D planning computer with conformal treatment planning
- Professionally certified, full-time radiation therapists
Hematology/Oncology
- Board-certified hematologist/oncologists on site
- Inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy services
- Infusions
- Blood transfusions
- All hematological procedures
- Professional trained certified cancer nurses
Programs
- Cancer Genetics
- Clinical Trials
Support services
- Counseling, support and practical assistance for patients and their families
- A patient care coordinator to manage patient access and coordinate appointments throughout the health system
