Why Now?
Pinnacle's volume of new cancer cases diagnosed has grown in recent years, and improved survival rates increase the number of cancer patients being treated within the System. Due to the aging of the Harrisburg Area population, cancer incidence is projected to continue its climb, increasing the demand for treatment services each year. The new Center brings a multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach to cancer treatment among medical oncologists, surgeons, and radiation oncologists. Providing world class care and treatment expertise to Harrisburg-area patients in a full-service setting
The Cancer Center will be staffed by a team of cancer care professionals and support services, working with community physicians and experienced cancer experts committed to ensuring that patients receive the most current diagnostic and treatment options as close to home as possible, as well as convenient access to that care.
Comprehensive Community Cancer Care Since 1991
The PinnacleHealth system has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (COC, ACOS) since 1991 as a comprehensive community cancer program. This accreditation is based on evaluation of standards representing the full scope of our cancer program including cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach, and quality improvement. This accreditation validates our commitment to meeting or exceeding national standards that have been established to assure that patients receive the very best care at our hospital locations.
Our vision is to maintain leadership in the delivery of comprehensive services and cancer care through a commitment to patient-focused care and the recognition of clinical expertise and excellence. Whether it is yourself or someone you love that is diagnosed with cancer, you want the most experienced doctors, the most advanced technology and the very best care close to home.
