Matthew J. Faber, PA-C

I had the privilege of joining the Fox Chase Cancer Center Surgical Oncology team as a physician assistant in January 2009. I am grateful for this opportunity because I can be a positive aspect of a patient's treatment. Whether assisting in surgery or simply spending those extra minutes with a patient and their family, I am thankful for my position.

After being diagnosed and now cancer-free since surgery in May 2009, I can better understand and empathize with my patients through my own struggles. Although there continues to be hurdles to overcome, there have been many positive changes in my life post-diagnosis. Participating in an event like the LIVESTRONG Challenge in Philadelphia will be a way to celebrate my own experiences and remember and support how we are all affected by this disease.

I recently established a Fox Chase team for the 2011 Livestrong Challenge. I invite staff and patients to join me in Livestrong's efforts to improve survivorship through the Challenge. Join my team or support a member.
