Women's Cancer Center in the new Robert C Young, MD, Pavilion

Fox Chase Cancer Center is delighted to announce the region's first Women's Cancer Center, the centerpiece of the expanded Robert C. Young, MD, Pavilion.

The Women's Cancer Center builds on Fox Chase's world-renowned expertise in breast and gynecologic cancers. It continues the Fox Chase approach of providing women with these cancers the most advanced treatments, including therapies available only through clinical trials at Fox Chase.

The Women's Center includes both clinical and laboratory research programs, such as the Breast Evaluation Center, Breast Cancer Center of Excellence research program, and the Specialized Program of Research Excellence in Ovarian Cancer. Patients at Fox Chase Cancer Center Buckingham are able to take advantage of the latest advances in radiation therapy provided by some of the nation's most experienced doctors using state-of-the-art technologies.

Opened in July 2009, the new facility, approximately 19 miles from the Center's main campus, gives Bucks County residents more convenient access to Fox Chase's nationally recognized cancer treatment regimens, along with access to innovative care, clinical trials and all the resources of an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Main Campus

The center at 333 Cottman Avenue contains a 100-bed hospital, diagnostic services, outpatient and treatment facilities in the West Building, research at the Reimann Building, and the Young Pavilion, home to the Women's Cancer Center and additional offices.




Fox Chase Cancer Center is one of the leading cancer research and treatment centers in the United States. Founded in 1904 in Philadelphia as one of the nation's first cancer hospitals, Fox Chase was also among the first institutions to be designated a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center in 1974. Fox Chase researchers have won the highest awards in their fields, including two Nobel Prizes. Fox Chase physicians are also routinely recognized in national rankings, and the Center's nursing program has received the Magnet status for excellence three consecutive times. Today, Fox Chase conducts a broad array of nationally competitive basic, translational, and clinical research, with special programs in cancer prevention, detection, survivorship, and community outreach.
