The team includes physicians specializing in radiation therapy (radiation oncologists), radiation therapists, medical dosimetrists, medical radiation physicists, oncology nurses, and a wide array of support staff. The full-time staff will be supplemented by experts from the main Fox Chase campus.

Shelly B. Hayes, MD
Director, Buckingham Radiation Therapy Facility
Dr. Hayes is a natioanl leader in CyberKnife treatment, with several new clinical trials for a variety of cancer treatments. Board-certified in radiation oncology, she joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as director of the Buckingham Radiation Therapy Facility. Hayes is an expert in treating patients using external beam radiotherapy, high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, IMRT/IGRT, and linear accelerator based and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. Trained in IMRT for prostate lung, head, neck, and tumors of the central nervous system, she is experienced in working with HDR and low-dos rate (LDR) therapies for prostate, breasts, and gynecologic malignancies, in addition to HDR endobrachial therapy.

Charlie Ma, PhD 
Physicist, Buckingham Radiation Therapy Facility
A Fox Chase Cancer Center Senior Member, Director of Radiation Physics and Professor, Dr. Ma will serve as the physicist at the Buckingham Radiation Therapy Facility. Ma joined the Fox Chase Cancer Center team in 2001. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Institute of Physics (IOP), American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), and American College of Medical Physics (ACMP). His research has been published extensively.

 

Lu Wang, PhD
Radiation Oncology Physicist, Buckingham Radiation Therapy Facility
A Fox Chase Cancer Center employee since 2002, Dr. Wang serves as the project lead for CyberKnife at the Buckingham facility.

Elizabeth Antonelli, BHS, RT (R) (T) (MR)
Liz joined the team at Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1998.  She is currently the Chief Radiation Therapist at our Buckingham Facility, a graduate of Gwynedd-Mercy College with a BHS in Radiation Therapy. She enjoys working with the Radiation Therapy team providing comfort and care to our patients as well as providing them with her many years of experience as a therapist.

Kelly Benner, Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
A FCCC employee since May 2011, Kelly graduated CHI Institute in 2004. She did her externship at a private owned hematology/oncology practice where she worked for seven years.  

She is responsible for direct patient care providing information, services and assistance.  She performs both administrative and clinical duties.

Janet A. Farley  RN, BSN, OCN

• Earned a (BSN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University
• 18 years of acute care nursing experience including 13 years focused in Oncology with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings;  7 years experience in Radiation Oncology.
• Joined Nursing department at Fox Chase in 2000.
• Specialty certification in oncology nursing (OCN) earned and maintained since 2001.
• Hold current certification in Chemotherapy and Biotherapy administration from Oncology Nursing Society and Fox Chase Cancer Center.  
• Member of Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
• Member of ONS local chapter for Bucks/Montgomery counties
• Nurse to Dr Shelly Hayes at Fox Chase's Buckingham Facility participating in the care and  management of patients undergoing Radiation Therapy and Cyberknife Therapy from initial consultation through follow-up care.

Mike Gutierrez BS RT(T)
Mike is a full-time radiation therapist at Fox Chase Cancer Center Buckingham.  Mike earned a bachelor degree in radiation therapy from Gwynedd Mercy College and is board certified.  He has been employed with Fox Chase his entire five plus year career.

Lisa Nugent BS, RT (T)
A Fox Chase Cancer Center employee since 2007, Lisa serves as a Radiation Therapist. Lisa went to Gwynedd-Mercy College where Lisa earned her bachelors degree in Radiation Therapy. Lisa is board certified in Radiation Therapy.

Karen Poulson
A Fox Chase Cancer Center employee since 2007, Karen is the Senior Medical Secretary at Buckingham, providing administrative support to Dr. Shelly Hayes.

Sue Brewster 
Sue has worked at FCCC Buckingham since its opening in 2009. She worked for many years as an office manager for a surgical oncology practice. She is responsible for all administrative duties as well as making new and follow-up patient appointments and retrieving all patient records. 

Sue is the first point of contact for all patients coming to Buckingham.
