Elizabeth Petri Henske, MD

I joined Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1996 to study the genetic causes of cancer. I am dedicated to improving cancer therapy through cancer research with a particular focus on cancer of the genitourinary system, including prostate and kidney cancer. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has provided continuous grant support to pursue this important research.

I work closely with pathologists, radiologists, surgeons and radiation oncologists to optimize individualized treatment plans for each patient. Through my background in cancer research, I have a particular interest in the newest "targeted" cancer therapies.

At Fox Chase, I am an active member of the Human Genetics and Tumor Cell Biology Working Groups. I am also a member of the Institutional Review Board, which is responsible for reviewing clinical trials and ensuring the protection of patients participating in them.

I am honored to be a member of The American Society for Clinical Investigation, to chair the Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Kidney Review Group at the NIH and to serve on the Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board of 2 medical foundations.
