Medical Oncology
For the past 25 years, I have led Fox Chase's Supportive Oncology Program to help patients and their families cope with their cancer and treatment. The main goal of our Pain and Palliative Care Program and our Lippincott Family Hospice Program is to optimize quality of life throughout the continuum of cancer care.
In my direct patient care activities, I strive to relieve suffering and improve function for cancer survivors and to provide comfort and peace to patients whose cancer is no longer responding to anticancer therapy. As chair of the Medical Ethics Committee, I also work to ensure that patients and families can decide which therapies they want and don't want based upon their personal, cultural and spiritual values.
