Ann Pellegrino, OCN, MSN, ANP-BC

I joined the nursing staff at Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1987. I started my career as a staff nurse on a medical oncology unit. I then moved to the outpatient department where I worked in the infusion room, clinic and phone triage. Until I became a nurse practitioner, I worked for a home care and home infusion company along with my position at Fox Chase. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to help care for cancer patients in the inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.

I always wanted to pursue a Master's Degree and decided to return to school to become a certified adult nurse practitioner. In my current role, I have an opportunity see patients with gastrointestinal cancers as well as melanoma patients. I perform a patient history and physical exam. I educate patients about their disease and help manage disease and treatment related side effects. I see patients that are initially diagnosed with cancer, on active treatment and those who are considered survivors.

It is extremely gratifying to work with these patients and their families. Working as a nurse at Fox Chase gives you the opportunity to really get to know the patient and their family.
