Tiffany Tam, MD, FRCPC

After completing my residency training in Canada and then a fellowship in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)/image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, I joined Fox Chase Cancer Center in 2011. I am dual board certified in Radiation Oncology with the American Board of Radiology as well as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
I specialize in treating cancer with high precision radiotherapy that will allow for higher doses, shorter treatment times, greater treatment success, and less side effects. My clinical practice focuses on treating a variety of tumors with SBRT/IGRT, as well as treating lung and breast cancer. I also have a special interest in spine radiosurgery. My goals are to offer our patients more treatment options and hopefully a better quality of life.
One reason I came to Fox Chase was to build a strong SBRT program. With advancing technologies in Radiation Oncology, we can use SBRT to treat many types of tumors in different parts of the body. Fox Chase has a strong medical physics team and state-of-the-art equipment, which are some of the key components to a great program.
As a multidisciplinary team of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, nurses, and many others, we consider all aspects of each patient in developing the best treatment approach for that individual. Cancer treatment is not only a physical, but also an emotional and psychological challenge. I strive to help my patients during this special time of need by offering my expertise, time, and compassion, so that I provide them with the best patient care.
In addition to clinical care, I also participate in clinical research in areas of SBRT/IGRT, lung cancer, breast cancer, and quality of life. Much of my research has been presented in national and international meetings, as well as peer-reviewed medical journals. Through these various research endeavors, I hope to improve patient outcomes.
