I joined Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1993 after training in both anesthesia and internal medicine, and then practicing in a major trauma center. When I joined Fox Chase, it was a breath of fresh air. I felt like part of a community where we all have a common goal--caring for cancer patients in a nurturing environment.

Undergoing cancer surgery can be very difficult for patients and their families. At Fox Chase, we have a unique team approach in which the anesthesiologists work closely with our surgical and nursing colleagues to guide our patients through the system in the least stressful way possible. This includes evaluating their medical conditions preoperatively, administering safe and comfortable anesthesia for their procedures and minimizing pain after surgery.

I believe that anesthesia care involves considering all aspects of the patient's health, not just the one problem for which they are here for surgery. My background in internal medicine gives me a complete understanding of each patient's pathology and physiology. I can therefore provide the most comprehensive anesthesia care possible.
