I have joined the Department of Pathology at Fox Chase Cancer Center because of the unique environment of this prestigious institution. The pathologist is an important member of the clinical team and at Fox Chase Cancer Center there is continuous, good communication between different medical specialties. The department has a great team of outstanding pathologists combining tremendous experience in the field of oncologic pathology with the will to stay atop the latest advancements in cancer diagnosis.
As a hematopathologist, I am interested in hematologic malignancies, an area of major advancements both in diagnosis and treatment in recent years. Understanding the molecular aspects and the biology of diseases helped scientists finding new targeted treatments. To further develop new treatments, a close collaboration with the basic scientists is necessary. Fox Chase Cancer Center is also unique in this aspect, nurturing translational research programs that bring the advancements of science faster from the bench to the bedside.
