I joined Fox Chase Cancer Center family in 2009 because it is the region's only hospital devoted entirely to cancer treatment and dedicated to cutting-edge research. I am a gynecological oncologist who specializes in surgical treatment of gynecologic cancers and complex benign gynecologic conditions. In addition to performing traditional open surgical procedures for staging and debulking, I have special interests in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries.
Fox Chase Cancer Center is committed to improving cancer treatments and the quality of life for patients with gynecologic cancer. Team approach to cancer care is accomplished through a mutidisciplinary team of doctors who work together to guide each patient through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Using this approach, the treatment plans reflect the combined expertise of many doctors — gynecologic oncologist, medical oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists. This unified approach also ensures that patients who need several different therapies to treat their cancer will receive the ideal care and provides comprehensive and coordinated care. In addition, through leading edge research, clinicians and scientists collaborate to discover more effective therapies for gynecologic cancers. Translational research brings new knowledge and treatments from the laboratory to the patient’s bedside as quickly as possible.
I was one of the first Fox Chase surgical oncology members to provide comprehensive care at both Fox Chase Cancer Center and Virtua in South Jersey through its Partners Program, expanding the Center’s efforts in bringing clinical trials to South Jersey and offer more treatment options in gynecological oncology to the community.
Using my training in Clinical Epidemiology, I hope to develop novel and innovative clinical trials in gynecologic oncology and collaborate with Fox Chase scientists in advancement of translational research. I hope to continue bringing the fight for women cancers even more to the forefront of public awareness.
