Plain & Fancy Food Fest Is Educational

Plain & Fancy Food Fest

New this year at the annual Plain & Fancy: A Taste of the Delaware Valley, participants had the opportunity to taste delicious fare from various restaurants as well as to visit Fox Chase's laboratories and learn basic research practices. Postdocs Gregor Balaburski, PhD, and Surojeet Sengupta, PhD, provided a closer look at the laboratory of V. Craig Jordan, PhD, DSc, OBE, where scientists study the effectiveness of anti-estrogen therapies for breast cancer.

Postdocs Takashi Sekiya, PhD, and Deborah Freedman, PhD, allowed attendees to work with real animal DNA samples in the the laboratory of Kenneth Zaret, PhD, which focuses on liver development and liver cancer.

Each year, Plain & Fancy raises funds to support a postdoctoral fellow for one year.
