The members of the Biomolecular Structure and Function group seek to understand protein sequence-structure-function relationships using such methods as NMR, X-ray crystallography, mass spectrometry, and a variety of computational and biophysical methods. A common theme is to elucidate the structural basis of catalysis, molecular recognition and folding of various proteins, including enzymes involved in biosynthesis and metabolism, DNA repair systems, proteins involved in signal transduction and DNA.
