The Cancer Genome Institute (CGI) at Fox Chase Cancer Center was established formally in June, 2011. By combining several institutional resources, a multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians, biostatisticians, and third generation sequencing, the CGI will offer an innovative clinical service that can be used to guide cancer patients’ treatment or steer the patient into appropriate new drug trials. The CGI’s mission is to promote “precision medicine”, by applying advanced DNA sequencing technology to patient care, prevention, and research. For more information on the CGI, contact Dr. Jeff Boyd, CGI Executive Director or Eric Johnson, Administrative Director.
