Committee Members
The Extramural Research Committee (ERC) was designated to vet new research ideas and protocols, develop policy, and offer guidance and oversight to research studies conducted through the Fox Chase Cancer Center Extramural Research Program (FER). Committee membership is open to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Fox Chase Cancer Center Partners, and other formal FER member physicians and clinical research staff. The ErC meets approximate every 8 weeks with a minimum 4 meetings each year.
The ERC has the right to approve research to be conducted through the FER. The ERC may recommend protocol revisions or suspension based on reports from the Extramural Data and Safety Monitoring Committee, participating IRB or study sponsor. The Committee can direct FER on matters involving issues such as conflict of interest, scientific misconduct or general concerns regarding quality of research.
