U.S. News and World Report Names Fox Chase Cancer Center Among the “Best Hospitals” in the Nation for Cancer Care

Best Hospitals: U.S. News & World ReportOnce again, Fox Chase Cancer Center has been ranked among the best hospitals in the nation for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report. In the just-released 2013-14 rankings, Fox Chase is ranked 30th in the nation in the specialty of cancer care.

 

Fox Chase Cancer Center Honors American Association for Cancer Research CEO with Stanley P. Reimann Honor Award

Fox Chase Cancer Center recently honored Margaret Foti, PhD, MD (hc), CEO of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), with the 2013 Stanley P. Reimann Honor Award for her significant contributions to cancer science and medicine. The Stanley P. Reimann Honor Award is bestowed by Fox Chase to individuals from different spheres of influence who bring exceptional ingenuity and expertise to the cancer cause.

 

60 Temple Physicians Named “Top Doctors” by Philadelphia Magazine

Philadelphia Magazine's Top Doctors 2013Sixty (60) Temple physicians have been named to Philadelphia magazine’s annual “Top Doctors” list.  Nominated by their professional peers, the physicians on the list practice at Temple University Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center and Jeanes Hospital.

 

American Association for Cancer Research to Inaugurate Two Fox Chase Scientists into the First Class of the Fellows of the AACR

Alfred G. Knudson Jr., MD, PhD, and Beatrice Mintz, PhD, were recognized for their scientific contributions that have propelled significant innovation and progress against cancer. The AACR Academy was created to recognize and honor distinguished scientists whose major scientific contributions have propelled significant innovation and progress against cancer. These Fellows were selected through a rigorous peer review process that evaluates individuals on the basis of their stellar scientific achievements in cancer research.

 

$4 Million Commitment Establishes Two Endowed Chairs at Fox Chase Cancer Center

Carol and Louis E. Della Penna Sr. of New Hope, PA, have made a $4 million commitment to Fox Chase Cancer Center establishing the Carol and Louis Della Penna Chair in Urologic Oncology and the Louis Della Penna Family Chair in Head and Neck Oncology.  The inaugural holders of the Della Penna chairs will be urologist Richard E. Greenberg, MD, FACS, chief of urologic oncology, now the Carol and Louis Della Penna Chair in Urologic Oncology, and surgeon John A. “Drew” Ridge, MD, PhD, FACS, chief of head and neck surgery, the Louis Della Penna Family Chair in Head and Neck Oncology.
